About Carolyn Poplak
Carolyn is a long-time yoga practitioner having spent over two decades studying in the ashtanga vinyasa tradition as well as having studied in depth with various accomplished and dedicated practitioners all over the world. She completed a teacher training with the late Larry Shultz of It’s Yoga San Francisco in 2002, a training at Catfish Yoga Shala in Toronto in 2004, and the Life of a Yogi teacher training with her long-time teacher and guide Dharma Mittra in New York in 2012. She is a diligent and passionate student of this ancient and rich tradition and continues to delve into all aspects of the practice including philosophy, asana, pranayama and chanting.
Carolyn also spends her time working in community development and social justice where she serves as leader and educator to future change makers. Carolyn is also the lead behind the annual 108 Sun Salutations fundraiser held every January 1st in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Toronto. Carolyn currently serves as assistant faculty for the Yoga Sanctuary's teacher training program in Toronto.

About Carolyn’s Teaching Approach
Carolyn’s devotion to and passion for this practice is evident in her teaching approach and style and she instructs both new and experienced students in an accessible and approachable manner. She is known for her intelligent approach to sequencing. She believes fully in the therapeutic approach to yoga which recognizes that each practitioner requires unique and specific approaches for their physical and mental well being. Her philosophy on teaching is to create a safe space where students can explore the balance between challenge and tranquility. She is a skilled and passionate asana instructor - who continues to advance her studies in anatomy - as well as a renowned led shavasana guide.
